HOW TO GET STARTED. You can view the accommodation letters shared by your students by Courses or a list Accommodation Letters.
Collabortion between faculty and the Accessible Learning Services (ALS) department is critical to ensure all students have access to reasonable supports to guide them to academic success. Accommodations are supports put in place for students with a diagnosis or disability that might affect their academics. Accommodations should not be viewed as modifications. Accommodations should allow a student to demonstrate competency for the learning outcomes for your course. How they do so maybe a little different but demonstrating competency is crucial.
Accommodation Letters detail the approved accommodations for each individual student in your course(s). Accessible Learning Services has documentation substantiating the student's disability related needs.
Please feel free to contact the Accessibility Counsellor indicated on a students accommodation letter if you have any questions, or if any of the accommodations noted are in conflict with essential learning outcomes. For more information regarding the accommodations please look at the Academic Accommodations: Guide to Support Faculty created in partnership with Teaching and Learning.
To meet the accomodaiton needs of students, copies of this letter are made available to Faculty members, Chairs/Designates, Program Coordinators and Student Advisors.
